Michelle Schimelpfenig, DO, MPH, FAAP
- Board Certified Pediatrician
- Integrative Medicine Fellow
- Mom of Three
Dr. Michelle Schimelpfenig is a board-certified pediatrician with more than 15 years of experience caring for children and families. As a mom of three, she understands that parents don't just want excellent medical care—they want a pediatrician they can trust, ask questions, and turn to as their children grow.
After years of practicing pediatrics in a variety of settings, Dr. Michelle founded Dakota Children's Clinic with a simple vision: to create a place where there is time to listen, relationships matter, and families have a trusted pediatrician who truly knows their child.
Her approach combines evidence-based pediatric medicine with a focus on prevention, nutrition, lifestyle, development, and the many factors that help children thrive. She is currently completing fellowship training through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, expanding the tools she can offer families while remaining grounded in thoughtful, evidence-based care.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Michelle loves spending time with her family, being outdoors, gardening, and caring for the animals on their small farm. Those same values—connection, curiosity, and appreciation for the world around us—shape the way she approaches children's health.
Above all, Dr. Michelle considers it a privilege to walk alongside families through the years—from newborn days and first steps to school, adolescence, and everything in between. Her goal is simple: to help children grow into healthy, confident adults.
“My calling is to walk alongside families as they raise healthy, resilient children—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”
